The First Alliance Foundation and Friends of the National WWII Memorial will commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Paris

 

 

On Thursday, August 29th The First Alliance Foundation and Friends of the National WWII Memorial will commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Paris by conducting a mass, ceremony and concert in Washington, D.C.

Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle, 1725 Rhode Island Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20036

The Free French diplomatic and military mission to the USA in Washington, DC held a Thanksgiving Mass at St. Matthew’s on August 26, 1944 to

commemorate the liberation of Paris by Allied forces, Free French resistance organizations inside France, and the people of Paris. General Charles de

Gaulle held a celebratory Mass on that day at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

 

6 P.M. | LIBERATION OF PARIS 75th ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION AND CONCERT BY THE U.S. ARMY BAND, PERSHING’S OWN

between the United States and France.
