Holland & Knight will be updating members on the status of CFIUS. CFIUS, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, is an interagency committee authorized to review certain transactions involving foreign investment in the United States to determine the effect these transactions may have on U.S. national security.  CFIUS recently issued new regulations that considerably alter the landscape for foreign investment in the U.S.  The new regulations become effective on February 13, 2020.  Don’t miss this opportunity to catch up on expanded scope of jurisdiction, new procedures, and recent CFIUS practice.

Holland & Knight will present a distinguished panel of legal experts from the firm including partners Antonia Tzinova and Ron Oleynik, moderated by Charles Borden. The panel will discuss:

•          A review of the final CFIUS regulations update issued in January 2020 and the ways in which the CFIUS process has changed since the FIRRMA legislation was enacted in August 2018

•          Practical guidance for French companies on how to consider CFIUS issues and navigate the new CFIUS process

•          A description of the opportunities available for French companies for legislative and regulatory engagement on CFIUS and related issues, and getting on the list of excepted countries (currently offered to Australia, Canada, and the UK)
