Past Events with the FACC WDC
French-American Friendship Soiree - June 23, 2010 at the French Ambassador's Residence
A total of 96 guests gathered at the Ambassador's residence for a memorable celebration of French-American relations.
Ambassador Vimont hosted the evening.
French Caucus Co-Chair, Rep. Jim Oberstar, spoke in English and impeccable French, and we had the pleasure of learning about the French caucus with Rep. John Boozman.
Representatives Ginny Brown-Waite, Bart Gordon, Robert Latta and Candice Miller were in attendance. FACC President Jean-Marc Gaultier illustrated the importance of French-American business relations and Executive Director Carla de Chassy presented a lifetime Honorary Membership Certificate to Ambassador Vimont.
Light jazz music presented a melodious backdrop to the evening's festivities.
A gourmet dinner by Executive Chef Bertrand Bellengier was served of shrimp remoulade with caper dressing, Muscovy duck breast with mille-feuille de legumes, marinated berries with blood peach sorbet and macaroons, with wine pairings and champagne.
Guests received crystal business card-holders designed by LR Paris.
Mrs. Jean Oberstar won the raffle prize: two round-trip BizSeats on OpenSkies to Paris!
