"Educational Exchange can turn nations into people, contributing as no other form of communication can to the humanizing of international relations."
- U.S. Senator J. William Fulbright, 1983
It was in this spirit of international exchange and understanding expressed by Senator Fulbright that, in 1983, the French-American Chamber of Commerce became a J-1 visa sponsor.
Our International Career Development Programs (ICDP), managed by the New York FACC Chapter, have opened the doors of opportunity to thousands of young people who have benefited from professional training experiences and personal growth on both sides of the Atlantic. Exchange has long been central to the mission of the French-American Chamber of Commerce.
As stated at the celebration of the FACC centennial, "The globalization of economic life has made the Chamber's participation in operating exchange programs for students and young professionals increasingly important. There is a growing demand for people who can adapt to other cultures and countries, and exchange programs are a crucial way of developing these skills. The Chamber is well suited to arranging these kinds of exchanges."
